🖥️ NBTevo CarPlay Activation
Depending on your iDrive firmware version, activation is completed either instantly via a USB Stick or remotely via TeamViewer using an ENET cable.
💾 Method 1: USB Activation (Firmware H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O)
No laptop required! Follow these precise steps to apply the coding:
- Prepare a USB Flash Drive (2GB, 4GB, 8GB, 16GB, or 32GB) and format it to FAT32.
- Copy the provided .BIN file directly from your computer into the root directory of the USB drive (do not put it inside a folder).
- Start your car’s engine or switch the ignition completely ON.
- Plug the USB flash drive into the car’s USB port and wait for 30 seconds.
- Remove the USB flash drive from the port.
- Manually reboot your iDrive: Press and hold the volume button for about 30 seconds until the screen goes blank and restarts.
- Wait for the iDrive unit to complete its automatic reboot sequence.
- The Apple CarPlay option will now appear, and you can connect your iPhone wirelessly!
⚠️ Technical Note: The USB method does not create a backup of your OEM FSC Codes. Only the Feature Installer method via ENET Cable performs a full factory code backup.
💻 Method 2: ENET Cable Activation (Firmware P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, X ,Y)
For these newer firmware versions, USB coding is blocked by factory security. Activation requires a remote connection with:
- Laptop – Windows 8 or 10 / 11 (x64)
- ENET Cable (OBD2 to Ethernet)
- Wi-Fi Antenna – Your phone connects completely wirelessly to CarPlay. You must buy and install the Wi-Fi antenna yourself if the car doesn’t have it.
📱 EntryNav2 CarPlay Activation
On your iDrive screen, select: Navigation → Options → Settings → Position & Version History → Check Version
You must verify if your head unit features a physical physical Wi-Fi port on the back.
⚠️ Important: If your EntryNav2 unit does not have a Wi-Fi Plug, CarPlay is strictly not possible.
⚙️ EntryNav2 Activation Requirements:
- Laptop: Windows 8, 10, or 11 (x64)
- ENET Cable & Strong Wi-Fi/Internet Connection (ensures a stable remote technician session)
- Wi-Fi Antenna: Must be plugged into the back of your unit for wireless phone data transfer.
