The BMW option code 1CR refers to Remote Engine Start, a feature that lets you start your vehicle’s engine from a distance using either the key fob or the My BMW App.
Key features and usage:
The main purpose of 1CR is cabin pre-conditioning, allowing you to heat or cool the interior to your previously set temperature before entering the vehicle, or to prepare the engine for driving.
Key fob activation:
Press the BMW lock button three times within one second. This usually works within an approximate range of 30–70 meters.
App activation:
Use the My BMW App to start or stop the engine remotely, or select “Climatize Now” from anywhere with a mobile data connection.
Security:
The vehicle remains locked during remote start and cannot be driven without the physical key or Digital Key being present inside the cabin.
Requirements:
Petrol engines only or petrol MHEV (MG1 ECU) NO DIESEL
BDC3 only
G-series models from 2018+ equipped with iDrive 7.0
ECU unlocked after 06/2020
Bench read of ECU flash required (even if the vehicle is already tuned)
Custom ROM supported (including vehicles tuned with MHD or MG Flasher)
