Why does the vehicle not accept the transmission?
When a used gearbox is installed from another vehicle, it may not be recognized due to immobilizer (EWS) protection. In such cases, even if the installation is correct, the car may fail to engage D or R, and may display an EWS blocking error, preventing the vehicle from moving.
What is the solution?
To make the vehicle accept the used automatic transmission, the ISN code must be extracted from the mechatronics and then synchronized with the CAS module. This allows the used gearbox to be properly paired with the vehicle so it can function normally.
This procedure is complex and requires professional-level expertise, as the process differs between ZF 6HP and 8HP transmissions.
We offer this service either on-site at the client’s location or remotely via OBD connection (DCAN cable for E-Series, ENET for F- and G-Series).
